A valued customer was interested in adding to their R&D lab’s testing capabilities to perform adhesion/cohesion tests on their thermal spray coatings per ASTM C633. This test involves loading the coating bond up to 100 kN (22,500 lbf) and is typically performed on a floor standing testing system to accommodate that high a force range. However, ADMET configured our cost-effective, unique-in-the-industry eXpert 2614 100 kN Table Top Universal Testing System for this application.

The eXpert 2614 can accommodate forces up to 100 kN, serving as a more cost-effective option than a floor standing unit. The customer can now perform high force tests on their thermal spray coatings, and can add capability in the future for a wide range of tensile, compression, and flexural tests on their materials.
ADMET also provided the customer with a sample preparation fixture to be able to bond up to 10 test pieces at one time, drastically increasing the efficiency and throughput of the testing.
