ADMET rope and thread grips are applicable for the tensile testing of filaments, cords, yarn, fine wires, narrow ribbons, ropes, and similar materials. The grip design, also called capstan-, drum-, or snubbing-type, allows for secure and efficient clamping for the measurement of tensile strength, elongation, and other mechanical properties.
Rope Grips
Rope grips (GR-T) typically consist of two opposing jaws that close around the specimen. They often have serrated or textured surfaces to increase friction and grip strength, preventing slippage. Read our informative blog post on Rope Testing here.

Thread Grips
Pneumatic bollard style grips (GT-T) feature a guide horn where the thread, wire, cord, or microfilament sample is wrapped around the bollard. This prevents sample damage and slippage when being pulled in the tensile direction.
